I advise you not to shift to Qatar. With my experience it very difficult to survive with that money. You can not change jobs like in Dubai. You have to face 2 yrs ban if u do not get NOC from the current employer. Getting family visa is very difficulty and hectic unless u r really lucky. Labour dept has to approve ur family visa before it reaches to immigration dept...

u need exit pass each time you get out of the country( Passport is not enough). This depend upon the mercy of the employer to give you the exit pass or not.

Also u can not enjoy the freedom u get in Dubai. Roads r crowded and crazy drives unlike Dubai. U cant find proper taxies and buses here. U have to resort to “illegal taxies for your survival if u do not have a vehicle” . you can see every where demolished roads and the construction is very slow here. Every thing is very very slow here..

Note that if you are have a small young family, to be able to lead to a comfortable life style (moderate) your total pacage should be at least equal to QAR. 15000/- and you will be able to save 'some' money. If your package is anything less than thatt, then you will only 'manage' your expenses here and will save nothing. Meaning, it makes no sense to disturb your present settled life for the sake of an offer that only looks 'big'

Drawing 10000 in Qatar is equivalent of drawing 6000 in Dubai.

I have lived in UAE before moving to Qatar. The difference I have found between them, is that in Dubai you can manage your lifestyle even if your package of as low as 5000 by leading a conservative life, or you can have a lavish life, if your package is a hefty one. i.e. Dubai provides you a lot of options to choose from and also provides value for money in everyway.

But, in Qatar you do not have much of options and hence you are forced to spend your money on the limited availablities. Moreover, Qatar is too expensive and the costs we pay are never complemented / justified by th type of service / product we receive.

Also, the processes & formalities are so slow over here (i agree there can be few exceptions) that we need undergo a real test of patience on many occassions. It takes time to realise that things can go as slow as they are here!

It makes no sense to switch over, if you are getting only a marginal improvement in terms of pay. Shift only if your package is good enough to lead an everage lifestyle and still save some money.

The best thing about Qatar, unlike Dubai, it offers a very very peaceful, stress fress, cool n easy life wit almost zero anxiety levels. The place is small, so you dont waste a lot of time on travel. There are no crazy traffic jams. You get more time to spend with your family. 'Cleaner' & 'safer' surroundings & market places in terms of modesty and socialising.

Hi

Salaam & Ramadhan kareem.

First of all you need to understand Doha/Qatar is completly different from that of DUBAI. Be prepared for the change.

The core city is a very small and theresn't much happening place like dubai. Maither is an upcoming area very near to the sports city. Consider like, it takes around 20 mins drive to airport and to the main city areas.

However, you have near by malls (careefour) for shopping, health centres and all other facilities. Living cost depends on you, Theresn't huge buildings like flat or apartments in this area, but you still can find villas.

They partition the villa for 1BKH (Qr.2500+) & 2BHK bedrooms (Qr.3000+) with seperate entrances, that's the mallu trend here.

If you want to have a decent & posh style living in flat it needs QR.6000 for double bed rooms & Qr.7000+ for triple bed room flats.

Water & electricity depends on usage, consider it like Qr.150+ per month. Internet from QTEL at 1 MBPS speed around Qr.200, plus landline at Qr.33 per month (landline to landline unlimited free calls).

I think minimum salary for family visa approval is Qr.7000 (not so sure) earlier it was 4000+. Once you land in here and you pass your medical examination and then finger prints with CID usually all together takes a month, then only you are eligble to apply for your family resident visa. You need atleast 3 months bank statement to apply for a family visa, however in the meantime you can bring her on a 6 month visit visa costs Qr.220/- per month for a single dependent.

Make sure you are degree certificates are attested by for ministry of foriegn affairs, NEW DELHI or else you will be facing problems. If you need any help write to me by PM i will reply bro.

Finally wait for other QLEr's to respond too.
