Is there an Aquarium on the Corniche????

I saw the extract below on a website but know nothing about it. Has this been replaced by the new Museum built on the Corniche or does it still exsist? If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks :)
"By far the largest and best museum is the national museum. Located in a delightful restored palace on the corniche , the museum is clearly divided into its two components (museum and aquarium), with a large lagoon in the middle of the complex. The building won the prestigious Aga Khan award for restoration and rehabilitation of Islamic architecture in 1980."
the article refers to the museum next to the roundabout before the ras aboud flyover (at the end of the corniche). This is an old palace converted into a museum (for which the Aga Khan award was awarded). It had a nice little aquarium.
the whole museum has been closed and is "under renovation" for a few years now. I believe a much larger aquarium is proposed. u can actually see the existed lagoon there in google earth.
