Where can a female chemical engineer work?

I might major in chemical engineering so what are the chances I'd get a job? and what are the tasks that I might have to do?
one last question, are men and women treated equally? I mean when it comes to salaries and so on..

Thanks in advance!

in qatar u may find some opportunities in oil n gas industry but overall posture is very male oriented specially in engineering side. it's better you start in Europeon or US companies like SHELL, CHEVRON or TOTAL FINa ELF being a woman u will find better perspective there.

Mandilulur, DJ EMIL and mojo1981 thanks a million!!

but mojo you have mentioned something about the nationality..well, I'm not a native qatari but was born and raised here, does this make any difference?

I had a friends intern ask me the same question when she had decided to come to RasGas for a month or so.

My background is chem eng, and all those which guys are asked to do, females aren't, we have people who climb the tanks and all.

I'm assuming there is no difference in salaries, the only difference that does exist is based on your nationality.

Elusive, what a wonderful poem! You are very talented. I think it might depend on where you wish to work as a chemical engineer. I know that in the US you would be treated and paid as an equal. With your sensitivity you would also make a good doctor.
