Why 2 months free ADSL only to NEW subscribers!

DKMR
By DKMR

I am a QTEL ADSL subscriber for last 4 years. Its regrettable to see that instead of rewarding old ADSL users for their loyalty, QTEL has chosen to extend
"2-months free ADSL scheme" only to new customers. This means while older users continue to pay (slog actually) every month while new users enjoy 2-months free usage - absolutely free !! Thats a saving os QAR 400/- for typical household on rental charges alone. Then other goodies like Free installation valued at QR199;
Free WiFi Router valued at QR210. QTel Are You Listening?

Very simple and logic answer- today you are buying an item and may be after some months same items price may come down, can you replace the one you have for the new price. This is to attract new customers. Now Qtel is considering customers as human being and you will get basic respect from the customer service agent. Very good change.

Good valuble comments from all....Loyalty is a bad word these days...Its the survial of the fittest...Better disconnect your existing connection and get a new one...

Nothing to do with being a monopoly.

Even in the UK where there are literally hundreds of options for just about every service provider the onus is ALWAYS on attracting new customers rather than rewarding existing ones.

Its just business - I dont understand it personally, but thats probably why I am not a rich businessman...

The problem with Qtel is their priority has been Profits over customer satisfaction. Ever since Vodafone came they have come up with offers which were unheard of . Be it the nojoom , shahry packs etc. So old customers are of no concern to Qtel, coz they know out desperateness to keep up with the world we will stick to them. So until unless they have a competitor in the Adsl Segment we have to bear them .

Same with me, been a user since 4 years now, i was given a usb modem so i had to spend round 400 riyals on a wifi router back then.

but few weeks back i shifted my house , paid around 100 riyals to transfer my phone and adsl line and surprisingly........surprisingly given a new Wifi Modem and now i am planning to sell my old router, the auction starts at QR 50 lol

Baldrick is right. You have no other option at this moment rather than keeping your ADSL connection. The offer is a bite to hook new customers and they will continue it till a good competitor is in with better packages.

Loyalty to a monopoly will get you no benefits - it's not like you can go elsewhere.

The offer for new subscribers is to tempt them to sign up. I see absolutely nothing wrong with what Qtel are doing.
