I forgot to mention utilities. Many companies pay the utilities on their employees' accomodations. Otherwise they are very high.

As I said before, the taxes in Qatar are just hidden. So you need to have other compelling reasons for coming.

Still bad, unless it gives you a significant boost to your career.

The savings are ephemeral. In Qatar there is no public transportation, no retirement, no pension, no health care that can be applied out of the country, no unemployment compensation. The food and housing are VERY high - no let me correct myself - the food is high, the housing is astronomical! Air transportation is quite expensive. Auto insurance is expensive, and covers very little anyway. Entertainment is exorbitant. You could try to economize but you would end up pretty cramped and miserable. Gene is right, there are new adventures but they come at a cost.

Maybe low but think about the savings that you will have as compared to working in your own country.

New experience, new roads to travels, crowds to meet... The choice is all yours.

Good Luck

The general rule is a competitive salary in your field at home plus 25% PLUS housing, transportation, etc. You're coming up short by quite a bit.
