Jeju Haenyeo Exhibition by Korean Embassy Qatar

In honour of the 50th Anniversary of Korea-Qatar relations, the Korean Embassy in Qatar is hosting “Jeju Haenyeo Exhibition” in Katara Cultural Village starting November 3, 2024. This exhibition will offer visitors a unique opportunity to learn about the haenyeo and their cultural significance, providing an unforgettable experience that highlights the shared connection between Korea’s haenyeo and the world’s seas.

The haenyeo of Jeju are not just divers — they are cultural icons, guardians of the environment, and the heart of Jeju Island’s living heritage. Their legacy and living history, passed down through generations, continues to inspire, offering a unique glimpse into the harmonious relationship between humans and the sea.
