Balconies? Loads. I've two. One with a pretty view, and one for hanging out washing.
You'll need kitchen stuff. Apart from furniture, all that's provided is bedding, a cooker, washing machine, a six-place dinner and cutlery set and - that's pretty much it. Reasonable quality new stuff here is a tad cheaper than in the UK. A lot of leavers are selling household goods about now but there's no mechanism for getting you and them together. There are some second hand dealers here but you need powerful bargaining skills to save any money.
Lots of cats here already, by the way, so tiddles might make scruffy new friends.
