Just like parenting - just because you have a pet, this does not make you a good pet owner. These poor animals, that have a tendency to be defensive, are usually baited and teased to be more aggressive.

Dogs have their place and to have a large animal is a city is sometimes cruel - these animals need space to run and exercise and they need activities to keep their minds active and plenty of good social interaction.

What would happen if you took a child, locked it in a small space, only allowing it to come out to the toilet a couple of times a day and allowed it no positive social interaction. They have very little chance of being nice.

Don't forget we have canine teeth too and we (usually) love to eat meat. Would that mean we would be instinctive killers too.
