I've been twice and loved it both times. I think both USA & UK passports are treated the same, as I just walked in and got Visit Visa Upon Arrival.
People complain about traffic in Doha, but the traffic in Lebanon is something else! I refused to drive! It's an adventure in itself. 3 lanes will automatically turn illegally into 5 across, and no one pays attention to any painted lines if there are any.
If you're used to Doha prices, you'll be fine budget wise.
I would definately go back again. If you can, try to fly there on MEA Middle East Airlines, it was an awesome experience.
