I think it is more about insecurity than being blind in love.   Confident women (and men) can be involved in those first heady months of a love affair and still be independent, strong and remain true to themselves.  Most times when I have heard about or witnessed a person being blinded to the real aspects of the person they "love" it is because they are insecure to begin with and/or want very badly to be involved in a relationship.
