Sorry to bother you but just wondering what makes you to think that it will be costly to get a report from the police and it will be a waste of time. If you are so lazy to go to the police that that is understandable. People are there to help you out with legal terms you just have to go there and the work will be done in a minute. Moreover for personal accidents like this the report is free. Try getting it and do the repairs in the showroom itself as it is always safer. Don't try to go to the mechanic shops if you don't know anyone there. They will fix the windshield properly but your spareparts inside the vehicle may not be original. Rest is your decision.
