ok wow...how this thread has drifted...and not in a good way!
Timtan...please do not take it upon yourself to deal with the animal population. Leave that to the government officials who do that as a job. As far as eating them...nope, no way, no how. If you are going to cull dogs then never be indiscriminate...cull the ones you KNOW to be attacking your animals NOT the ones who are pets. That's where the officials come in...that is their job.
Oryx...yes the working dog is the basis for ALL dogs..but some societies switched into caring for them as pets. Actually I know several Qataris and other Muslims that have them as pets as well. What I've come to understand is that they can have them as pets just not inside the house. That still doesn't excuse the person who sets out poison tho...That person has no sense of right and wrong.
Abu...thank you for your comments....It is a different breed of person who thinks of pets as children or family. I am one of those, as well as my friend. I would go to the same lengths to save my dog as I would my child. Oddly enough..my parents weren't like that...I think they liked the dog better.... go figure..
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked,the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.
