The US has been here in Qatar for ages, and a "warming" relationship between Iran and Qatar surely won't make them pack and leave?? who knows what the objectives are for the closer ties...
i don't think, a threat (could call it that?) from washington is a very good idea at all though...
military tactics and the like from the new administration doesn't really work...those tactics was already overly employed by the last one...
the presence of US forces in Qatar clearly states that this country needs the other...and vice versa...for political reasons, military reasons, and others that you could mention...
it would have been so easy for His Highness to eradicate them if he really thinks that the US doesn't do them any good at all...
or maybe, he just keeps them for some sentimental reasons?
