Hi Doragouveia,
have been in dukhan for about 2 years now and have found it a very sociable place there is a toddler group every monday and a coffee morning every wednsday ( both in term time only) theres a familys buffet at the beach clud on tuesdays, darts, baingo, golf, the hash on a sunday if you like walking or running in the dessert (this is a good way to meet the party crowd!!!!).
There is also the womens assosiasion, a sewing club and
there are always people willing to look after the little one for an hour or two if you want to go out, i think there is a lady that dose a proper sitting sevice but i've not used her.
you really get back what you put into the life here if you get out and about you will make so many friend.
and dont worry to much about accommodation there are apartments held for teachers and there quite nice but you will have to wait for a villa!
hope this helps and i look forward to seeing you soon.
p.s. i have a 1 year old son and the locals are so lovely to him they really love kids here.
(sorry about the spelling)
