I saw the fire in person, and what the firemen had to deal with was not just an easy job. There were no access roads to get to the heart of the fire, and the heat was intense (like curl your eyelashes intense!).
The fact that the fire did not spread and was contained in just a small area of the souq shows the hard work and the good job they did. It could have been a lot worse with all those stores and buildings connected. It was really windy which made matters worse, but they were able to put out the fire with minimal damage. It could have been a huge disaster. Before you criticize them, why don't you try doing their job for a day?
and mjamille28- it certainly was a huge fire not a collapsed roof
