for 6000QR, even though they admitted I didn't DO the violation they initially accused me of, (running a red light) 6000QR, even the video they have of me proves I didn't do it, so they gave me some paperwork to do and said they would lower it to the real violation of turning right on red (600QR), which I admit to.
I was happy and waited and waited, and after months I never heard form them, so I went back and did it all over again, and some snobby young Qatari punk gave me the papers again and he signed them and I turned them in again, and waited and waited...
Finally I decided to leave Qatar and my company was waiting for me to take care of the ticket so they could stamp my exit permit, but the traffic people never did it. I was down to two days before I had to leave, and the morons never did it so I finally just went down to pay it, and the funny thing is, they wouldn't let me!
They were all "No, no! Not 6000QR, we fix to 600QR! GO upstairs and do paperwork to change!" I told her I been through all that over the last couple months, and just demanded to pay the whole damn thing so I could get the hell out of that crap country. I consider it a fine I didn't mind paying, as it let me escape.
