Expats in the ME don't hate the West. I don't. And it seems as if quite a few Arabs living in the West don't either. This guy has a Palestinian parent, and he still supports Israel (and his parents don't have a problem with it). I suspect there are MANY more like him who manage to go to the US and decide to be American first rather than Arab-American or Arab.
I am not a fan of his politics, but good for him to be able to loose all that baggage that people think he should be carrying.
