Riaz this has nothing to do with the west being jealous....
If you still believe that Qatar "Won" the right to hold the World Cup after all of the corruption in Fifa has been exposed well..
But back to the point, the reason the western media is only now interested is simple. Nobody was really interested in Qatar before, now it is hosting the second biggest sporting event in the world of course the spotlight is going to be turned on Qatar. I remember when it was announced that Qatar was going to host the world cup, alot of news stations even had a special segment to explain where it was!
Personally I'm not sure if it will change anything.. But one thing is for sure Qatar doesn't like to look bad in public especially in the global media. So maybe something might happen?
