I can speak from experience, and do not want to have you get your hopes up, but I am here since 10 months, if you are female living here, it is not as easy as others think.

There are few and far between female work visas available. I see posts for jobs in all the major places where the employer states, female position available, must be on husband or father family residence visa.

I am American, I was told it was easy to get working here. I am here on a upon arrival visa, it was normally easy to tranfer to a business or company residence visa. I have had many phone and face 2 face interviews and I have been offered posts from very big companies like Wintershall,QF and QP to name a few, but since being here, the Imigration laws have changed. They now hire only women that are already sponsored on family rp.

I just had another interview today at Governement ran company, and the same thing was told to me. I said to them, come on, your a Government Company,I have transferable visa, it should be easy for you to transfer my visa. They said sorry no it is the law now. Have to hire only women on family visas. So if all these big companies can't transfer a female visa, then which ones can?

But good luck,I even have staffing agencies wanting to place me, but they say the same thing. Visa must be family rp. The staffing agency recruiter told me a few days ago, it does not mean that all companies can't hire you, it just means very few companies are allowed to have business or residence female visas available. just means we have to keep searching and, it is harder to get sponsored and find the one company that can transfer your visa.

Don't lose hope. Apply, drop CV's, try Hotels, they hire specific nationalies but most times low wages for Qatar cost of living. But I am just not wanting anyone here to have the painted picture I was given 10 months back that it is EASY to get work, especially an American with 15+ years HR training & Development exp.
