The main living expenses here are accommodation and schools. You need to make sure that these will be paid by the company along with flights back to the UK for you all once a year. With three kids you're going to need a villa which will cost around 15,000QR on a decent compound. Not exactly sure about school fees as mine is still too young but Google Doha College or Doha English Speaking School to get a rough idea. Make sure you're sitting down as they're not cheap. Check out the classifieds on this website for car prices. Ideally you really need a 4x4, both for safety on the roads and trips into the desert. Other expenses are similar to the UK or in some cases (like clothes) a little more expensive. Petrol is ridiculously cheap. I don't know what your husband expects to earn but I would suggest around 15,000 - 18,000 a month on top of accommodation, schools and flights as a minimum. Make sure you get on a good compound with lots of facilities - you will appreciate having Western neighbours and the kids will have friends to play with. Finally, make an effort with your neighbours, all expats have been in the same boat as you and everyone will be happy to help/offer advice/invite you round for a drink etc. Good luck!
