So I have spent the last year exploring and fishing all over Qatar. What I find is that the catching is almost always poor. This lead to continual searching for new grounds. If you want to fish from shore it is very limited as it is very shallow most places. Fishing around the south end of the corniche can produce fish, but technically fishing is prohibited until you get to the dowh harbor. Most of the time we are fishing from Kayaks and Stand Up paddle boards as this allows us to get into deeper water. However I get harassed almost every time by the Coast Guard. sometimes they say "fishing not allowed" which is BS. Other times they say "very dangerous" which is BS.
