A unique initiative that brings the community together to look at the goodness of individuals and appreciate the gift of life, the BigB Meetup is back with its third edition.

All set to take place on April 20 at one of Doha’s most iconic hotels, Al Aziziyah Boutique Hotel, the BigB Meetup 3.0 will embrace the theme: “This Ability- Championing people who are differently abled.” The event will see four differently-abled speakers enlighten the community with their stories.

The BigB community events are the brainchild of Bosco Menezes, well-known Doha-based photojournalist and a popular social media activist. With Goan roots, Menezes grew up in Qatar and has more than 20 years of experience in the marketing and media field with a professional eye for photography.

Under his own brand Big B Fotografi, he has taken the lead to organize some major meetups and photo exhibitions in Doha over the last years.

The meetups, which serve as a platform to connect locals and expats in Qatar, spring from a desire to inspire, inform, educate and spread the news of good deeds performed by individuals and groups of people in everyday life, with hopes of such spirit to affect the wider community.

The master of ceremonies will be Ahmed Al Shahrani while Menezes will be launching the BigB Fotografi Awards during the event.

Among the speakers at the upcoming event are:

AbdulRahman Abdulqader – Qatari Para athlete and Rio Para Olympics medalist

Faisal Al Mosawi - Kuwaiti Guinness’s Book of World record for the fastest 10km scuba dive

Mariam Al Mulla - Qatari special needs Artist

Ismail Binyusaf – A differently-abled expat who is a champion volunteer

Mohammed Al Hayder – Life Coach

Jose Saucedo – Lead Volunteer at Doha Environmental Actions Project (DEAP)

The event will run for a total of 2 hours from 4pm to 6pm. About 100 participants from organizations caring for differently-abled individuals such as Shafallah, Hope Qatar, Best Buddies Qatar in addition to people from the expat and local community are expected to join the event.
