Local Dates Exhibition
Local Dates Festival is starting in October 16 and runs until October 26 at Souq Wakif.
The festival will feature some of the finest dates such as Al Khalas, Al Shichi, and Al Khunaizi.
This year’s festival will see the participation of an increased number of local farms in contrast to previous years.
The success of the festival is reflected in the volume of sales. In the 2018 edition, 205, 185kgs of dates worth QR1.7 million were sold while the number of visitors was 54,000.
The festival will open its doors to visitors from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Visitors will be able to purchase dates and learn about the different varieties produced locally.
